One way to build your affiliate program strongly is to always keep in contact with your affiliates, reach out to potential new affiliates, and especially ensure you stay in touch with long-term affiliates regularly. You’ll need to understand how to speak to your affiliates as professionals who work side by side with your own efforts to promote your products and services. When you learn how to do it, and do it often, you’ll see significant results.
Reaching Out to New Affiliates
People who are entirely new to the affiliate game are going to respond differently to your efforts than someone who already knows what they are doing. But when you get a new affiliate, reach out to them right away, and then at least weekly once they have been introduced to your program and your products. Maybe you want to reach out to some customers to find out if they’d like to be affiliates.
Reaching Out to Long Term Affiliates
If you have long term affiliates, it’s likely they’re doing well with your program, but it would be a mistake to ignore them now. If you started off on the right foot contacting them at least weekly from day one they’re going to be used to you doing it. If you haven’t done that, do it now. Ask their opinion about something in your program that can help and then implement something like it and let them know about it. You can get so many ideas that help with affiliate recruitment by talking to your older current affiliates too.
Reaching Out to Potential Affiliates
Another way you can grow and improve your affiliate program is to actively seek out super affiliates who work with your audience promoting products like yours. This is a little trickier. However, if you have a good plan set up with a good product even if you’re not yet well known if you approach the affiliate as to what you can do for them, and how you can help them, instead of what they can do for you, and it’s a great program why would they say no? OK, some will say no. But that’s okay. Remember every no is that much closer to a yes.
Set Yourself Up for Success
Get your affiliate program looking amazing from the dashboard or backend. Ensure your landing pages are converting. Provide amazing customer care. Then proudly reach out to anyone you want to regarding your products and services and how they can promote them and earn money. When you do that, you can’t fail.
Set a Schedule
Most people wouldn't do things if they didn’t put it in their calendar. Like most things in your business (and even your life), systemizing things are going to develop habits that turn into the structure for your business. One thing you need to add to that calendar is some time each week to contact each of these types of affiliates in an encouraging way that gets results.
The more you contact them with encouraging words that educate them about your product, the audience, and the resources you’ve set up for them to succeed, the more likely they are to put those resources to use. Take time to schedule it, then track your efforts so that over time you will notice an increase in affiliates acting and becoming super affiliates.
