Create A Template For Your Emails

Email Marketing Challenge

Auto-responder services have come a long way over the past decade. We’ve gone from clunky interfaces to easy drag and drop editors that make it quick and easy to create emails and newsletters that look stunning and in turn make you look good.

One of the best parts of the new interfaces is the ability to create and save your own email templates. If you haven’t done so already, I suggest you figure out how to do this ASAP. There are a couple of big benefits to creating and using templates in your email marketing.

A Polished And Consistent Look

An email template will give you a professional and clean look. Or a whimsical and colorful one. Pick a template that you think will resonate well with your readers and give it a try. Ask your subscribers for feedback if you like, or go with a look similar to what others in your niche are doing.

A template allows you to incorporate some simple branding like a business logo, or an image of you with your personal closing. Most importantly, templates make it easy to have a consistent look and feel with each email that you create. This allows you to become recognizable. Your readers will know at a glance that a given email is coming from you. They get used to and comfortable with a certain look and style. That in turn builds trust.

It Saves Time And Effort

Growing and online business takes a lot of time and effort. There are a lot of different things you need to stay on top of. Creating the basic look and outline for each email message doesn’t have to be one of them. Save time and brain space by taking advantage of these templates. It may only be a few minutes here and there, but over the course of year that will add up quickly, particularly if you mail several times per week, or even daily.

You Don’t Start With A Blank Page

Last but not least, using a template means you no longer start with a blank page. If possible include your personalized greeting, a tagline, and your personalized closing with links back to your site and social media profiles. Not only will this save time as discussed earlier, it also gives you a framework and starting point. You don’t have to stare at that blank page anymore. There may not be a lot of content in the email yet, but it gives you a place to start.

Use the template, a basic outline, and the content plan and calendar you created and the email will almost write itself. When you’re stuck and can’t come up with a good hook, subject line, or call to action, go through your swipe file for ideas and inspiration. With all the tools in your email marketing tool belt, it will get easier to craft and send well written messages to your subscribers on a regular basis.
